Thanks. Just as I was preparing to publish this I saw somebody on Twitter claiming that black pupils had "no chance of uni" while also implying they were likely to be excluded. There's a lot of myths about black pupils.
I think it might stem from the performative nature of some alleged antiracism. If you are willing to say things that are just not true, or even things that most people would consider actually racist, in the name of antiracism then you show you are particularly committed to the cause.
