The story so far…
I have been looking at how I used to teach (when my pupils achieved impressive results)1 and how I teach now. I don’t think I am doing anything particularly impressive now, but I still think it’s worth reflecting on what I do.
In my previous post, I described the context in which I teach. In my school:
Whole-school policies dictate many lesson features and routines.
We use workbooks.
I described how I get pupils into my classroom, set an Engage Task from the workbook, and then begin to take the register.
